Do you find yourself frozen in fear?  Perhaps you are fearful that you may make a mistake? Are you afraid to take the leap and believe in yourself and your greatness?  If so, welcome to the group!  We all face the challenge of overcoming fear, especially associated with failing.

In her book, Hidden Genius, author Polina Marinova Pompliano states “Original creators typically have three characteristics in common: They have a unique point of view on the world. They are confident they can achieve an ambitious goal. And finally, they are willing to fail spectacularly in the name of creating something revolutionary.”

As we move forward exploring and exercising our greatness, we can become original creators. To have confidence that we can achieve ambitious goals, we must also be able to overcome the fear of failure.

Polina Marinove Pompliano states that Ed Catmull, co-founder of Pixar studio, “believes the big, juicy failures are where true, groundbreaking originality lies. During the creative process, Catmull encourages his team to experiment, fail, and learn over and over again until the film reaches their desired level of quality Hidden Genius).

Do not fear failure, embrace it as evidence similar to that noted by  Catmull, through failure we learn and  we grow.  As you fail, your greatness will allow you to learn and change, thus providing deeper access to your greatness. It is these moments of fear of failure that most of us “back away” from the challenge.  Go create from your greatness and do not let fear of failure hold you back.
